REZILIENCE
An actor is waiting for Niki Axioti so that his performance can begin. But she is late.
Drawing inspiration from S. Beckett, M. Courtemanche and T.Veggos, the performance focuses on the persistent need to be seen, to be acknowledged, to be allowed to exist.
The actor humiliates himself (“rezili,” as we say in Greek), yet stubbornly persists.
After a life devoted to the futile art, the lure of possible recognition is enough to keep him waiting. Like another Didi or Gogo, he waits.
And just as Niki Axioti seems about to arrive, the usher approaches the stage instead of her.
